Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is an interactive process in which a licensed mental health professional, working with a credentialed equine professional, partners with horses to address psychotherapy goals set forth by the mental health professional and the client.
Suitable for people struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, mental health disorders, eating disorders, etc. These services are based on our beautiful farm, in the company of our amazing horse friends. This is a hands-on, nature based program where individuals can explore their challenges and concerns with the help of horses. Very different than traditional talk therapy, EFP can offer many facets of growth and healing through interacting and learning from the horses. The horse is a critical partner in EFP because they have highly sensitive prey instincts that cause them to recognize and react in a way that provides immediate biofeedback to the participant's current state of mind. They often mirror human emotion or react in ways that helps the team more easily recognize the challenges the participant may be facing. The equine's unique, non-judgmental personalities help us define our challenges and move towards our strengths and growth. This program offers empowerment, connection, healing, growth, and more for those who choose to partake in the experience.
