The "Come to Cue" -Getting your Horse to the mounting Block 3:15 pm As owner of Lauren Beck Horsemanship, she has been working with horses and riding for just over 20 years . She is a Ken McNabb Master Certified trainer and currently travels offering lessons on colt starting, problem solving, trail riding and many things in between. She strives to help you meet your goals & goals for your horse, better your horsemanship and improve your relationship between you and your horse. |
Saving Grace Farm
Therapeutic Riding Demo 3:45 pm Saving Grace Farm is a nonprofit organization that offers therapeutic equine assisted activities to people with special needs, disabilities, PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc. Our staff and one of our special riders will be doing a demonstration of a therapeutic riding lesson and discussing how it helps people with special needs. The Director will be available for questions and discussion. |
Janna Griggs
Join-up/Ground Relationship Demo 4:15 pm Janna Griggs is the Executive Director of Saving Grace Farm. She has over 28 years experience working with horses and over 19 years experience working with people with special needs. She enjoys educating people on how horses think and how it correlates to humans and the lives we lead. She also teaches Equine classes for children on Outschool, an online learning platform. She holds a BA in Therapeutic Horsemanship from St. Andrews University and is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. |
Stephanie Pope
Red Light Therapy and Acupressure 4:45 Stephanie has competed in Western shows, barrel racing, pole bending, and causal trail riding. In 2015, she received a Bachelor's in Animal Science Specializing in Equines from the University of Florida. She then completed her 300-hours to become certified by the National Board of Certification of Animal Acupressure and Massage for large and small animals. She is also certified in Red Light Therapy for Animals. She has a passion to share information she has learned to help owners understand these holistic modalities, teach acupressure clinics for horse owners, and acupressure classes for dog owners! Matt Leazer
Farrier Chat/Demo 5:15 pm Matt Leazer is a farrier offering barefoot trimming, shoeing, and corrective shoeing around the local area. He attended Wilkes Community College in North Wilkesboro for farrier training. He has over 10 years of experience in the field and has continued to learn and hone his skill through working with his father-in-law and attending farrier workshops at Large Animal Medicine & Surgery in Salisbury. He works closely with the vet and owner to provide quality workmanship and care for the equine. |
