Our Horses

RAT2006/Farm151.jpg

Henry
Henry is 31 yr. old Appendix gelding with a kind heart and a great attitude. Before coming to the farm he showed in jumpers and dressage, as well as some western pleasure.  With all the qualities of an angel, he is our most trusted steed.  He has given confidence to countless students, as well as inexperienced volunteers who are learning to lead.   We are truly blessed to have such an amazing creature among us, and hope that he will be with us for years to come.

Alistar
A 19 yr. old, 16'2 hand Hanoverian cross, Al has been on the farm for about two years.  In his previous life he was Fourth level dressage horse, which makes him very highly educated in equine terms.  He is now teaching students what he knows about dressage, as well as carrying the biggest of our TR riders.  He is also proving to be a fantastic vaulting horse, which means he goes around in a circle while riders balance in different poses on his back.  A very important and gorgeous member of the herd, we are very thankful that Al has "retired" with us.

Misty
Misty is the cutest little blonde pony we know.  She teaches students to pay attention, treat others with respect and sensitivity, and to keep their energy calm and controlled.  She is a perfectionist, and insists that we all do everything just right.  When we do, we are rewarded with a perfect, willing partner that responds to the slightest move.  In addition to TR, Misty teaches many regular riding lessons and loves to jump!

Scout
Scout is an 11 yr. old rescued Arabian.  He loves people and makes a very responsive mirror of human behavior.  He helps us teach our students about body language and body awareness.  He is great for groundwork and loves to be groomed and given attention.  He would sit in your lap if he could fit.

Jubilee
Jubilee was born here at the farm in June of 2005.  Now at 3 years old, she is proving to be an ideal therapy horse.  Outgoing, social, confident, and gentle, this little mare is a delightful addition to our program.  Jubi has been participating in ground lessons since she was a foal, and now she also carries students in riding lessons.  Her strong build and short stature make her an ideal pony for carrying riders that need extra support from sidewalkers.

Moe
Moe is a 25 year old Thoroughbred.  He was donated to the farm about four years ago.  He is a former race horse and show horse that has retired here on our farm.  Due to medical issues he now only participates in grooming and ground activities.  But he has a gentle personality and we love having him in our program.

Our Staff
